Our world is experiencing dramatic changes on a consistent basis. With this pandemic, we are all living through unprecedented times and circumstances. We have all been impacted in so many ways. We are worried about our loved ones, we are anxious about our own health, and we are concerned about providing the basic necessities for ourselves and our families, and all the while, South Atlantic Health Care is continuing to care for our residents and our colleagues.
While governments have directed people to stay at home as much as possible, our organization is one that is considered essential (a distinction that I have always believed to be the case without any government authority telling me) and therefore South Atlantic Health Care professionals must go to work daily in our mission to enrich the lives of those we serve. Our approach and strategy to the COVID-19 pandemic is of utmost importance and includes very specific details to ensure the safety of residents & staff, adequate supplies of PPE, and facility management.
I have seen countless acts of colleagues caring for our residents and for one another with compassion and love. Whether it be to sew masks for colleagues, spend hours to find the safest placement for residents, help residents to maintain contact with loved ones, or caring for residents with COVID or COVID exposure, I SEE AND HEAR THE KINDNESS, PROFESSIONALISM, AND COMPASSION OF SAHC TEAM MEMBERS. We will all get through the difficult days ahead and will emerge stronger and more grateful when life returns to some sense of normalcy.
